Abstract
Essential to self-care is empowerment. This is required in both the daily practices we initiate and engage in, and additionally for the decisions we make that develop, maintain, and protect our wellbeing (Lemon, 2021). With self-care comes self-kindness, self-awareness, self-regulation, and self-compassion. At a time when there is incredible uncertainty exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of valuing self-care has not changed (Lemon, 2021a, 2021b). What has come to light during the COVID-19 pandemic is that there are ways to take care of oneself and others where one can flourish or be true to their authentic self.
