Abstract
Focusing on teaching and learning, this book aims to introduce and popularise ecosocial work among currently practising and future social professionals, scholars, and educators. The book has been written with educational institutions offering social work, community work and related programmes in mind. On the one hand, this is the context in which most of the book’s authors are rooted; on the other hand, ecosocial work could, and in our view, should, be far more widely taught, known, and practised than it currently is. Overall, the social professions have not yet fully realised that their contribution is much needed and potentially significant in the crucial sector-crossing sustainability transition underway (Ranta-Tyrkkö & Närhi, 2021).
