Abstract
This article will examine from the palaeographical point of view autographs of three important female figures of the Italian Renaissance, Isabella d’Este, Lucrezia Borgia and Renée of France. The objectives are 1) to attempt to reconstruct their education in writing and 2) discover their use of autography.
