Abstract
Dialogue in interaction between a physiotherapist and a hip arthoplasty patient. The study investigated how dialogue between the physiotherapist and the rehabilitee takes place in physiotherapeutic guidance after hip surgery. The study material consisted of a literature review and a qualitative, narrative analysis of the video filmed during the therapy session. All articles accepted for the review identified the need for customer orientation and individual encounters with rehabilitees, but owning to lack of time, the opportunities for individual guidance were limited. In the result of the study, this is shown, among the other things, as concentration on the content of guidance, even though the interaction situation could have been dialogically more interactive and aimed more at cooperation. Dialogue skills should be seen as an area of professionalism that the physiotherapist must maintain in the same way as any other competence.
