Description: The data and code related to the article "Assessment of microalgae species, biomass and distribution from spectral images using a convolution neural network" consist of the following parts:

1. Spectral transmittance images of algal samples on 24-well plates
2. Biomass assessments by an electronic cell counter
3. Training and validation data for a convolution neural network
4. Test data for a convolution neural network
5. Python code for training and validation and test data processing
6. Python code for running three replicates of seven different topologies of a convolution neural network and the models themselves
