Description of the dataset
Description: The CopaGloba project examined the development of coparenthood during the transition to parenthood among new parents and how coparenthood was shaped by family and labour market policies, family services and prevailing cultural expectations. Coparenting was studied from the perspectives of family, community and culture/wider society. The data collection of the study started on the April 1, 2020 and finished June 30, 2022. The following data sets were gathered: a) individual interview data of parents (late pregnancy N=92; and child 1,5 years N=91), b) mobile diary data of parents (child 4-6 months N=276; and child 1,5 years N=268), c) survey data of parents (late pregnancy N=306; child 4-6 months N=273; and child 1,5 years N=267), d) focus-group interview data of parents in online game-based parental group (N=26), and e) focus-group interview data of professionals in family centers (N=21). In addition, parents from Japan and Portugal were interviewed but this research data set includes only the Finnish data. The longitudinal study funded by the Academy of Finland was carried out during 2019–2023. The study was conducted by the consortium of the University of Jyväskylä and JAMK University of Applied Sciences in close collaboration with the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) and international collaborators.
