Description of the dataset

DescriptionWe propose to perform prompt and delayed spectroscopy of neutron deficient 211, 213-Ac
(N = 122, 124) nuclei. The aim of this study is to detect and identify the low-lying excited states
and possible isomeric states. The low-lying isomeric states 1 / 2+ and 13 / 2+ observed in bismuth,
astatine and francium nuclei are likely to be present also in actinium nuclei.
The information obtained will extend our knowledge of the evolution of the single-particle states,
deformation and shape coexistence in neutron-deficient nuclei beyond lead. We propose to use the
RITU gas-filled recoil separator combined with JUROGAM III gamma ray spectrometer to study the
structure of 211, 213-Ac nuclei.
