Description of the dataset
Description: The CopaGloba project examined the development of of coparenthood during the transition to parenthood among new parents and how coparenthood was shaped by family and labour market policies, family services and prevailing cultural expectations. Coparenting was studied from the perspectives of family, community and culture/wider society. In addition to mobile diaries of parents, the following data sets were collected: a) individual interview data of parents, b) survey data of parents, c) focus group interview data of parents in online game-based parental group, and d) focus group interview data of professionals in family centers. The individual interviews with parents from Japan and Portugal were also conducted. The longitudinal study funded by the Academy of Finland was carried out during 2019–2023. The study was conducted by the consortium of the University of Jyväskylä and JAMK University of Applied Sciences in close collaboration with the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) and international collaborators.
