Description of the dataset
Description: Results of an experimental campaign performed with the CUBE-ECRIS ion source to study the effects of single and double frequency plasma heating and gas mixing on the ion source performance. The ion source was operated with a slit extraction system. The experiments included measurements of extracted ion beam currents, ion charge state distributions, and emissions of bremsstrahlung and microwaves from the ion source. The studies included operation of the ion source in continuous mode and also measurements of the plasma ignition and decay transients. Ar, Kr and Xe were used as primary plasma elements and He, N and O as mixing gases. The experimental work was carried out in November and December of 2022.
