Description of the dataset

DescriptionThis dataset consists of interviews (n=27) of women with criminal backgrounds. The focus of the interviews has been on the interviewees' trauma experiences and their traumas' consequences. The basis of the interviews is Questionnaire called Traumatic Antecedents Questionnaire (TAQ). Data were analyzed using qualitative methods.

The RITA project has focused on women with criminal background, traumatic experiences, and development of women specific services.The aim of RITA project has been to (1) study the connection of trauma experiences service needs of women with criminal backgrounds, (2) examine and analyze nowadays social work regarding substance use, health social work, social work with adults, and living social work and employment services from the service evaluation point of view, and (3) develop and pilot trauma experiences recognizing model of co-operation and services, which systematize the preparation for women's release from prison and contribute to the success of integration into society. The project has been developed at three stages. This dataset has been produced during the first phase. The aim of the first study phase has been to implement a wide survey in prisons and interview women with criminal backgrounds on their trauma experiences and their traumas' consequences.

The interviews have been held between 24.4.2023 and 22.9.2023.
