Summary

The Centre of Excellence in Research on Ageing and Care (CoE AgeCare) examines ageing and care from multiple perspectives: policies, new care models, housing, technology, health, migrancy, disability and inequality. CoE AgeCare studies the transformation of ageing and care conjoining the analysis of diversification of everyday life to that of ongoing profound societal and policy change. In particular, we study how ageing and care are impacted by the growing migration-related population diversity and the all-encompassing digitalization of society. The CoE combines scholarship from social policy, sociology and gerontology, analysing older people’s care needs, agency and equality as well as the changing character of care work. Our research is conducted through manifold national and international collaborations. In addition to building up new empirical knowledge, our objective is also to reshape the conceptual landscape for research on ageing and care.
