Summary

EduLEAD - European Network on Educational Leadership
Collaborative School Leadership has a central role in the quality of learning outcomes, by influencing the motivation and capacities of students, teachers, and school leaders, as well as the school’s environment. Students need to be prepared as “holistic persons” to be equipped with competencies and skills to be democratic citizens and join the job market. Supportive learning and work environments are essential for all actors in schools, and collaborative school leadership is a key framework to ensure this. The EduLEAD Network would like to focus on enhancing collaborative school leadership which is crucial in light of the new needs schools face. For this, effective collaboration and full engagement of the actors at institutional level are needed. This applies to the objectives of the European Education Area (EEA) and the project call for the reduction of early school leaving, enhancing the well-being of students, teachers, and school leaders, the digitisation of schools, the continuous professional training of teachers and school leaders, etc. The overall objective of the project is to develop and support a broad and sustainable Europe-wide network of relevant and reputable European-level and national organisations, and local institutions who represent policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and stakeholders. The aim of the network will be to collect and showcase existing research and good practices which are educative and can be good examples for other organisations and institutions to implement the EEA goals. The network will promote co-operation, development and implementation of EU policy at different governance levels, and will support the Commission's policy work on teachers and school leaders in the context of the European Education Area.
