Abstract

In this chapter, we lay the foundation for all the chapters presented in this book, here with the help of a conceptual framework for interprofessional collaboration. Using this model, we introduce the central concepts connected to interprofessional collaboration. This will become a thematic connection throughout the entire volume. Therefore, this chapter works as a frame for the entire book. Like every model, the one that we present has its limitations. Therefore, it is important to note that this chapter is not intended to be comprehensive regarding literature and theory. Rather, the aim is to examine the concept of interprofessional collaboration in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) from multiple viewpoints and demonstrate the diversity of the concept.
