Jutta Viinikainen


General description

Jutta Viinikainen obtained her doctoral degree in Economics in 2012. Her work focuses on labor and health economics, particularly on the relationship between health and health behavior and labor market outcomes. She has published her work e.g. in Health Economics, Social Science & Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Economics & Human Biology, and Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization. Viinikainen has also served as a referee in several international journals such as Oxford Economic Papers, Small Business Economics, Journal of Economic Psychology, and PLOS ONE. Her teaching experience public economics, labour economics, advanced mathematical economics, and advanced microeconomics.


Jutta Viinikainen visited Monash University in 2019, University College London in 2018, LIKES Research Centre for Physical Activity and Health in 2018, Boston University in 2017 and University of Bamberg in 2016. She is a vice member of the JSBE faculty council and an alumni member of Young Academy Finland.

Research interests

Tutkimukseni käsittelevät terveyden, terveyskäyttäytymisen ja persoonallisuuden merkitystä työmarkkinoilla. Tutkimukseni tuottaa tietoa tiedeyhteisölle ja päätöksentekijöille siitä, mitkä tekijät vaikuttavat yksilön menestymiseen työmarkkinoilla.
