General description

I'm working as a doctoral researcher at the Department of Education. My doctoral research combines family research and the perspectives of adult learning and development with the subject: Development of coparenting during the transition to parenthood. I am interested in research topics related to the family wellbeing and adult learning. I have worked in several projects at the Department of Education: projects related to family research (CopaGloba, TRIAD, BabyTrail) and a project related to children's rights and participation (OIVA). I have also worked as a university teacher, e.g., in family studies and early childhood education studies. I have a master's degree in education. I also have teacher qualifications in the fields of early childhood education and adult education.

Research interests

My doctoral research is part of the international consortium research project (2019-2023) of the University of Jyväskylä and Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences: "Learning to coparent: A comparative longitudinal study on the construction of coparenting during the transition to parenthood (CopaGloba)" funded by the Academy of Finland. The research data of this qualitative dissertation study consists of interviews, surveys and diary methods of Finnish couples who have had their first child. The data was collected from both parents across three stages; during last trimester of pregnancy, when their children were 4-6 months old and when their children were approx. 1.5 years old.
